I would say that Python is no less expressive than many other languages out there. It takes some getting used to, but that is true of every new language. My major problem with Python's syntax is that it uses indentation to delimit blocks, which is error-prone (especially when refactoring).
That being said, I would not use Python for anything other than small, in-house programs. Given that there is no deterministic memory management, and (AFAIK) there is no Python compiler, it is unsuitable for large or for commercial programs.
I agree with you about the snowflakes. The entrance to the campus reads "University", no "Kindergarten"; if you can't handle that, you have no business being here.

While AFAIK it still requires the app to opt in  a few Android versions ago Google required apps to start allowing users to decline individual permissions instead of having to agree to everything to run. If/when they make this mandatory it'd limit a lot of potential elephantery; OTOH I suspect most of the scumware would just bake in a legit reason to need the mic so even those who're savvy enough to read the permissions will have to bend over.
What we really need is a way to cut off frequency responses above a certain level. Set it at the 4 or 5 khz that IIRC landline phone systems used and you're still perfectly fine for voice chat; but have cut off the too high pitched for most people to hear part entirely.
