Can I use this bit of software?
I have no clue. Can you use a mouse, understand some basic UI concepts of the last 30 years? Type on a keyboard or use a touch device interface?
If you have answered yes to all the above, wonderful, you can use the software.
Still doesnt mean I will allow you to use it. That's up to the cat.

The users sign up with us and send a data file for us to process. By the time it gets to my section of the life cycle the data has been massaged at least once.

In our product, the term "traditional login account" means login handling by our application rather than the typical web app "login" or Windows login. Our users are operating a commercial ink-jet printer, and no one wants to stop printing just because of a shift change. We've had to create our own user management scheme with user rights, passwords, etc.
For those of you shrieking in horror at the idea of a roll-your-own user system, it works well enough.

We distinguish users through the position of the device on the aircraft they are working on.
E.g. if device is in 'pilot' slot, you get pilot view. If device is in co-pilot slot, co-pilot application will be launched instead. So each device has to have all the applications for all the positions of the aircraft loaded.

And if the device is in a bomb under the wing, you obviously are the weapons officer.

So if a maintenance person sits in the pilot seat they have access to the pilot application and can potentially screw with the plane!

If a maintenance person sits in the pilot seat... he can technically speaking fly the plane... as he has all flight controls in front of him. But our system is not used by the pilots to fly the plane.
