when selecting the find and replace dialog box in the VS2015 IDE i no longer have the check box's to select things like "Match Case", "Match whole word" etc. just the text, ive searched for hours on the web and nothing has shown up, with this driving me mad - has anyone else had this as it seems to have happened recently and i have no idea how to fix it. any help appreciated
It started as an extension for VS2010, and was then integrated into Visual Studio. There have been various changes to the UI over the years. In VS2017, the "match case" and other options are displayed below the search box. In earlier versions, they were accessed by clicking the arrow next to the search box, or pressing the down-arrow key when the search box is focussed.

Thanks for the reply but upto a week or two ago it was all working as it always had in versions of VS2005 to VS2015, you could tick the 'match case' checkbox and all others, but now you just see the text 'match case' with no checkbox. at first glance i dont have the down arrows showing the options but will study the links you kindly supplied to see if i can figure anything out.
ive gradually got more peed off with microsoft over the years for making lots of stuff stop working, and changing things for no good reason, and ive been using their products since 1982. grrr

I am a developer relatively new to Visual Studio 2017.
I created a Windows Forms App to maintain legal visitor data but am experiencing this issue:
Symptoms: Receiving error (Concurrency violation: the UpdateCommand affected 0 of the expected 1 records)
I can Add records and edit records no problem, but this error only occurs when I:
Add a record successfully and then try to Edit the same record directly
(In other words, I get the error when trying to re-edit the same record).
Can anyone please assist?
-Add Button calls this:
Private Sub InsertData()
-Edit Button calls this:
Private Sub UpdateData()

Me.LatihanDataSet.Tables(0).Rows(1).Item(1) = TextBox1.Text
i = DatamahasiswaTableAdapter1.Update(LatihanDataSet.datamahasiswa)

Was going to make a offline install disk of the Community Edition of VS 2017. Can't even do that without surfing through bullshit. The file you download isn't good enough. Now they say you have to update Windows 8.1. So I try to do that and they say "this update not applicable for your computer".
Oh yeah...if you have the time or patience you may discover something called a hotfix that you can install first.
Oh so let me see...
You gotta download one file to your drive to discover it doesn't work properly. Then you do what they tell you to do only to find out that doesn't work either.
