Well with my amazing maths this looks like a dumb idea. If it only uses one hand that is only 5 fingers (counting thumb here, simple maths).
So that like using five bits. 00100.
so 2 to power 5 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 = 36
x2 again = 64 - 1 = 63 possible combinations.
and i can only hold my middle finger down i use my thumb, so thats a few combos less.
so like 60 possible combinations.
now let me work out how many combos a-Z0-9 for 8 characters is...
oh maybe this better. Usually questions are what first pet. so this hand thing offers more combinations then that.

I think you've confused fingers and gestures.
Given the 32 permutations of fingers, you could hold your hand horizontally, vertically, pointing towards the camera, moving between 2 positions and changing the number of fingers. Pretty soon you'll reach an astronomical variety of permutations.
I still thinks it's an awful idea as a password alternative, as it will be extremely easy to see someone else's gestures.
(Also 2 ^ 5 = 32, not 36)

In 2009, manufacturers including Apple, Samsung, and Nokia, signed a memorandum of understanding to say they would voluntarily standardize on the then-current micro-USB connector. Apple as an outlier? Youdon'tsay?!

And samsung broke away with th S8 by using a usb charger with no bias - no up or down. While it is convenient I now need 2 cords for different devices.

The headline makes it look like some AI can gauge your expertise.
If you read the article, it becomes clear that it is simply a list of all the courses that Coursera offers that you did not order yet. Meaning that according to this "AI", Zuckerberg, Linus and Gates have no expertise at all.
Come on, that's selling a query as AI simply to save on advertising costs; it will not be used to judge resumes.

That it makes no sense at all and that a company doing so loses all credibility and frightens every person with healthy common sense... it is crystal clear.
But no company will use it?
After seeing what some companies / HHRR do in the interviews... it would not surprise me that some start to "sort out" using the new "fancy AI process"

Top web browsers 2018: IE, Edge and Firefox return to the road of ruin | Computerworld[^]
I've been strictly using Chrome for at about 3 years.
I switched to Firefox today to see if I could.
Chrome is way too popular and you know why? Convenience.
The way it saves your activity across computers and sessions is quite amazing. (But maybe that is actually intrusive too?)
Can I live without that? Can you?
We will see.

I've held out all day with FF and I'm happy so far. I also learned that it was very easy to sign up for FF's service which saves your tabs, history , etc across devices. Also it seems like you can manage the data more precisely.
EDIT 2
Last night I switched to FF at home too. And this morning my FF browsers are synced via the FireFox service. Very cool. I'll probably install mobile FF on my Android phone too.
So far, so good.

I like FF. It's had hiccups here and there with tech changes that didn't go well like when it first switched to multi-process but overall it's been great.
