Your Point seems to be that the member links to comercial product -in a simple message- right?
I don't get the Point what is allowed at CP and what not...
Now, first of all sorry to @sanderrossel to mention this here, but for me a question for a longer time
To make it clear some members Point in a comment to a Commercial product and should be banned, while sander has a comercial link (for himslef) https://www.amazon.com/Sander-Rossel/e/B0785X148P[^] in it's signature.
Please clarify me

This guy signed up and made three comments all pointing to this one product.
For all we know he might be a bot.
I've been a *cough*respected*cough* member for years, posted thousands of messages and wrote plenty of high quality articles and blogs.
And I'm just linking to one of my greatest achievements ever!
IF I turn out to be a bot I'm the greatest AI that ever roamed the internet (unless all of you are bots too).
So yeah, I do believe there's a slight difference (at the very least I should get a warning before getting banned).
Also, no one likes a snitch

In this case the member's only interaction with the site has been to post messages about this particular tool. They have only ever posted 3 messages, one of which has already been deleted so may have been construed as spam (I don't know, never saw it).
That behaviour sort of implies that the only reason this particular member joined is to promote the tool or website and that is not what this community is about.
The same applies to the members that have spam links in their signatures ... especially if they are hidden, obscured or shortened ... if they only post largely meaningless messages in order to leave their signature then they are highly likely to be promoting whatever it is at the end of the link and trying to hide the fact that they are doing it.
Some posts are obvious contrived attempts to drive links to a site or product, this one wasn't so obvious which is why I suggested it as "One to watch?"
Sander (and probably others) however is an active member of the site, in fact an award-winning author of articles here as well as his books. It could be deemed "against the rules" to be "advertising" his book in his signature but that is not the sole purpose of his interaction with this community. In fact he will have had to have had considerable interaction in order to post a link to his homepage on his profile.
There was a discussion some time ago about what was appropriate in signatures but I can't find it now - you might have more luck than me or someone else may post a link
If this doesn't, and the links in the sticky comment at the top of the forum don't, help clarify things for you then perhaps it's worth asking Sean or Chris for clarification. Definitely don't take my word for it!
