A bit uncanny that my personal suspicions are being discussed here.
It is strange that churches were targeted in this attack, considering all the violence against Muslims by Buddhist extremists. They could have waited until the Vesak celebrations, which would have wrought more destruction.
The country's economy should have improved much more than it has since the end of the long civil war, but the government has only been getting us deeper into debt and giving away progressively bigger pieces of the country to China.
Now the ISIS is conveniently attacking the country, so that everyone will be distracted and will stop paying too much attention to the real issues at hand. It looks like we have gotten ourselves a new bogeyman.
Of course there will be no evidence and an independent investigation will undoubtedly be denied, but I'd really love to see, for instance, what the forensic evidence at the attack sites would uncover.
(posting from puppet account created after social media was blocked, and voicing opinions like this is slightly risky anyway)
I've to unfortunately agree with everything you've said.
I've been to Sri Lanka, and was awestruck at just how beautiful it was with lush greenery, abundant supply of fresh water, amazing wildlife, and all the natural resources one could ask for. It's quite sad to see it being ruined by corrupt political leaders.
