I wonder that there are differences between the list of articles in the "Latest Articles" search and the "Just published" section of the home page. Is there a reason for that or is it a bug?
I use the "Latest Articles" on a regular base to see what's new. I select a minimum score of "1", mark all categories in "Show" and don't ue any special tags.

Two different systems are used to create the lists. The home page uses our Follow system which tracks Events the happen to things that you have tagged to follow, or just everything if you are not logged in.
This system filters out updates to content that has happened too soon after a Post or Update. This is to prevent your Timeline list from getting filled with repetitive Events.
The Latest Articles is just a database query on the Articles themselves, so no chance at duplicates, but will list the Articles in a different order.
I hope this clarifies things.

not really. I expect to see the articles from "Just published" in the "Latest Article" section too. Maybe not in the same session, but later on. For example this morning i see the following articles in the "Just Published" section:
Update Editor for Git (Published 8 hours ago)
Combine Multiple git commits into a Single commit in GIT using Squash (Published 9 hours ago)
Introducing Digital Asset Management Systems (Published 10 Hours ago)
Tiny CMD (Published 16 hours ago)
The first two articles are Tip/Trick's the other two are articles. In the "Latest Articles" section i only see the last one (Tiny CMD), no matter if i'm signed in or not. I don't use any tag or filter except the time filter and the minimum score, but even changing this one has no effect to the result. To clarify what i mean i added some screenshots:

A random thought from left field. At least the first one (Update Editor) has no votes, so shows a score of zero. Maybe 0 < 1.

Meanwhile i understand the search algorithm. In the "Latest Article" section only rated articles are shown. In the past also unrated and new articles where shown there and tThese are the ones i'm most interested in. Is there any reason you changed this behaviour?
I can do a classic search to get the wanted articles, but the presentation is much less comfortable (also on the home page).

I wonder if voting questions in Q&A is a good thing in it's current form. Person may ask only one or two questions and immediately receiving a vote of 1 (probably without any comments) most likely does not make him/her feel comfortable here.
If the question is really poor, we can always report and close it so would it make sense if voting on questions was not allowed until the person has posted 5 questions? If one has posted more questions than that voting them could guide in creating good questions.

What if we flip this around and ask ourselves: how can we ensure the questions that are posted end up in a form that makes them "answerable"?
Specifically:
- How can we guide users to ask reasonably-formed questions without building a system that is so rigid it makes it painful for smart people to ask
- How can we quickly identify questions that are not well formed?
- What does it take to have someone reword a poorly phrased question?
- What's our threshold to simply removing questions that show no effort or can't be salvaged?
The "post a comment and hope the poster will fix the question" isn't a viable option from what I see. I'd prefer to focus on improving questions, gently, rather than a blanket removal on our ability to filter out poor questions.

I fully agree. What I simply had in mind was questions that are understandable but they still receive votes of 1, for some reason. For example I don't see any actual reason why the following was down-voted How to count duty days in duty table in SQL server.
What comes to getting better questions, you probably have already considered this but what about possibility to 'lock' questions so that solutions cannot be added until the question is unlocked. This kind of functionality could could be a stronger signal to the person who posted the question that it needs to be clarified.

The issue here is that if someone doesn't care enough to think about other people and post a well-formed question, they rarely, if ever, care enough to be "educated".
There's a lot of throwing-it-against-the-wall-to-see-what-sticks mentality in asking questions online. There's a point where the best use of everyone's time is to remove the chaff and focus on the wheat.

When I try to post a question, I get an internal server error.
The preview for the question shows it formatted correctly. I am using Chrome on Windows 10.
This appears to be an ongoing issue (either at my end or CP) because I got the same problem about ten days ago.

Looking into this. I might just be an intermittent database issue due to load caused by crawlers, but I'll try a eliminate the problem.

I had the same problem this morning:
- typed a Solution
- pressed submit and waited
- after a couple of seconds the error message appeared and the solution was still in 'raw' mode
- pressed browser refresh and the solution appeared as posted.

I use boilerplate a lot, and have a "standard message" telling people that what they have submitted as an article isn't up to snuff. It includes two pre-prepared links to an article and a tip here:
Please, look at some of the existing articles here to get an idea of the standard we expect.

I'm sure you have put a lot of effort into getting the code right, but articles aren't just about the code: the words are what matters! The only way I could get the links in was to manual y remove the "rubbish" and just paste the URL instead.
This has worked for years and suddenly stopped in the last few days.
