More likely to see a hybridized system where both the linux and windows kernels live side-by-side.
Just like we see a WOW64 layer we'll see a WOL (windows-on-linux) and/or a LOW (linux-on-windows) layer.

What the hell is he talking about? The problems with Windows have little to do with the NT Kernel, which is kick ass and magnitudes better than the Linux kernel.

I still say that they main problem for the Windows devs is that there are just way too many flaky (and changing under them) drivers to support (OK, in the case of the Intel/Broadcom network cards not so much). Kernel is pretty solid, and getting better with the whole MinWin development.

This guy is a complete Linux fan-numpty. The Windows kernel is pretty much rock solid and is the bit that doesn't need replacing with a bunch of flaky Linux kernel-of-the-week implementations.
What needs changing is the culture of trying to look as pretty as the iCrap stuff, running on a phone, while skipping over the needs of real desktop users. I'm sure the next version of the Windows graphic shell will have an interface for people who wear boxing gloves... oh, hang on - it already does.

Ummmm, the Linux kernel is updated every couple of years. It's the 1,001 Linux distributions, dozens of UIs, and half a dozen package updaters that are the primary problems with Linux.

Pretty sure they had the source publicly accessible, but without an OSS compatible license or any mechanism to submit changes.
