We've been taught to look out for that little padlock to ensure a website is secure. But it's dangerous to rely on just one detail. So, 'https://this-is-totally-a-real-secure-site.com' isn't legit?
And now I'm sad that URL isn't already taken. Those phishing folk sure are lazy! (and a cowardly and superstitious lot)

Then you been thaught wrong, and that's the problem (not the padlock); my parents know that they should always cancel an auto-download, and never click a link on an email with an address that they haven't got mail from before.
As a result, my fathers' laptop works fine for over 5 years, without having a virusscanner installed. (Both do have a custom host file, ofc).
The padlock doesn't turn green anymore in Chrome, so easiest solution there was to explain not to use chrome anymore

Ah, yes, like the company that tells me a password needs to be at least 10 characters, etc.
That's not doing much; it gives the nice cozy feeling of strict security. I don't want to know how many of those very secure passwords are saved in plain text or part of a logbook.

Probably the most impactful feature of C# 8.0 is Nullable Reference Types (NRTs). It lets you make the flow of nulls explicit in your code, and warns you when you don’t act according to intent. "Ain't nothing but a thang"

I have been working with NULL datatype for 30+ years with Clipper and FoxPro. 
Are they reinventing the hard way the wheel of weakly typed languages in C# ?

Personally, I love FB. I use it to keep in touch with my family and friends who are spread all over the world. The demographics of FB are changing - it's no longer a forum to post selfies of what you're eating for breakfast. Old farts (like myself) find it a great medium to share pictures of family events. And unlike some, I don't get my "news" from FB.
