Years ago, when Chrome was just getting started, Google was freely admitting the only reason Chrome existed was to keep people engaged on the internet for as long as possible, since that meant they could derive more revenue.
Somehow people keep forgetting Google is the world's biggest advertising company.

It surprises me that articles like that are not illegal. I mean the whole thing reads like it's Google that is doing the spying. I expect for most non-techie readers, that will be the only thing they would take away from the article.
Of course, that's not to say Google isn't guilty of spying via other means.

Mmmm, it doesn't say what extensions are vulnerable  A little bit worrying but I'll probably be ok...the only extensions I use are ones that mine crypto, track crypto, let me have things for free I really should be paying for, and put me into contact with hot single women in my area.

I wonder: Now that MS has combined Edge with Chrome into a single browser: Are we going to be exposed to the bad sides of both browsers?

I think you have to explicitly enable Chrome extensions on Edge so at least Edge is secure by default.

That's essentially 100% wrong. The only time chrome ever even opened in my browser was when something (like an install) set it as a default browser and I closed it immediately. I may, but don't hold me to this, have once used it to download FireFox - on a Linux box of some sort.
I don't even like sending email to @gmail addresses. Even though I never agreed to their terms of service they can still use my emails in the hands of the various address holders, to build a profile on me.

Of course! Set up a website on your internal network and limit your browsing to there. Isn't that what everyone does?

I get spyed on legitimately - via cookies. I have yet to find a browser extension that's worth the time to install.

Finished one project, completely buried in work, my customer asked me to send him the project using WeTransfer.
I'd like to receive a confirmation of reception.
Is there any method out there that offers that?
Do you use something similar?

Why not send it with a encrypted USB device per post requiring to be signed at destination?
Once they get it, they ask you for the password.
This way you have a double confirmation.
