I've just spent 2 weeks driving all over Ontario in a massive wind-sail (or RV, as some prefer to call it).
We stayed on the shores of 3 of the Great Lakes, mountain biked as much as possible and donated litres of blood to the roughly 1 quintillion mosquitoes that had seemingly never tasted anything as delicious as Australian blood before.
Oh, and Rogers cell coverage maps are a sham and a lie. The interwebz was a long forgotten memory during the trip.
So: what did I miss?

Deep, green, and mellow,[^] and oddly enough, not a single blood-sucking insect to be found. You can go south to the north (a relativistic effect). These lakes are cozier, anyway.

I did a bit of that some years ago spending time on Manitoulin island followed by ferry to Tobermory (in fog in June!), a quick trip to Niagara before a final night in Toronto and home. A brilliant province to explore.

Yeah - we skipped Manitoulin due to time constraints but the whole area from there and up is stunning.
I think I've seen enough of Toronto though. I would definitely love to but a final line through that particular item

That reminds me that it wasn't until the second time I saw Mel Brooks' "Silent Movie" that there was one word spoken in the movie, and who spoke. No spoilers from me, it was such a great and unexpected gag.
I went to the movie two nights in a row. The second night I got to see the gags/jokes I missed because I was laughing so hard at other jokes the first night. This seemed to be the case for others, as I was laughing when they were just winding down from their laughing.

I can usually appreciate Mel Brooks' humor, but maybe this is just a case of a movie not aging well - it just did nothing for me.

It isn't everyone's cup of tea, but it just had me howling in 76. It probably has to many current references to be fully appreciated by the younger crowd. Also, it is pure Slap-stick, and many just don't like that. I do. Must be why I love Pratchett's "Moving Pictures" from the Discworld series. He's the only one I know that can write Slap-stick effectively.
Plus, as I said, you may not fully get it until the second viewing.

I can appreciate humor that predates me (you can count me as a Python fan), but I think you hit the nail on the head: it's slap-stick, and I've never found anything funny in that.
I'll stick with Mel Brooks' other work. This one, I think, is gonna be a write-off for me.
