Hi Guys,

As I am a PHP developer, I am now looking to learn about ASP.net. One of my friend told me to go with that as there are Major benefits of using ASP.NET and Visual Studio to develop websites.

He suggested me a few articles:

http://www.w3schools.com/aspnet/
http://www.keenesystems.com/Expertise/ASPNetWebApplications.aspx

I have gone through the latest article on workshop held in London:

http://ndc-london.com/workshop/whats-new-in-asp-net-5-and-mvc-6/

In that way I can explore the new ASP.NET 5 project structure. I hope everyone find it beneficial.

More ideas would be highly appreciable.

Thanks

Asp.net is only really good for the Windows platform. There are technologies like Mono that let .net run on other platforms, but if I was developing for unix, mac etc I wouldn't use asp.net, I'd use something native to those platforms.

If you're looking to learn asp.net then I'd advise you get a book on it and go through it. If you're new to the .net platform you might actually want to learn c# first as asp.net books are going to assume you already know either c# or vb.net.
