Sync asp application with outlook calendar

I want to add a functionality to my application to sync calendar to outlook and vice versa. Is it possible to do so ?

If i added an appointment or an event to a particular date to the calendar in my application it should automatically be added to my outlook account's calendar which I have logged in through the same machine or device and it should display the same event in my outlook account's calendar whenever i opened the outlook application.

Just like contacts app synchronize with gmail or facebook app

What I have tried:

I have researched about but i didn't get any information relevant.

What version of MS Outlook (MS Exchange)?

It can be any version.As application will be used by enduser

Richard, it won't help, becasue OP needs to read about Outlook Calendar REST API or/and Exchange Server Web Services.

Agree - question is not exactly clear. I guess that OP wants to achieve that without Outlook client, because he/she wrote: "it can be any version".
