Hello Everyone,

I have downloaded a .net project "Customer Relationship Management" and when i tried to execute the browser gets opened with a localhost address and shows up the directory listing instead of the login page. i've also started the sql server 2005.

Can anyone help me out please? also please check if the code is executing or am i doing something wrong?

Thank you

What I have tried:

When it prompted error for the first time , i installed the SQL client components and started the server back again. Also i have enabled the programs and features of IIS settings. Alsao i think the problem is in the web.config of the project.

Don't post this under Quick Answers - if you got the code from an article, then there is a "Add a Comment or Question" button at the bottom of that article, which causes an email to be sent to the author. They are then alerted that you wish to speak to them.
Posting this here relies on them "dropping by" and realising it is for them.

Sorry , i'm new here.

That's ok - but there are 12,000,000 members here, all of whom are allowed to write articles. And the chances of the original author seeing it under QA and realising it's related to him is pretty low - we get a lot of questions, and only a relatively small percentage of members answer them. Plus, we don't know exactly which article you mean - there are a lot to choose from.
Much better to talk directly to the person who wrote the code!

haha thanks for that , i understood that as they are so many members it is difficult for the concerned person , but my mistake it was from other website. i thought i could receive some help from in here. I tried to figure it out and made it running but when i register in my project i keep getting this error.

"A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified)"

Help me whats wrong with this. Thanks btw!

The error message is pretty explicit: the connection string is wrong.
So start by finding out exactly what the connection string it's using is (we can't do that for you), then look at the server it's trying to connect to (we can;t do that either), and then look at the user login details thew string specifies (we definitely can't do that as you'd have to publish your full access details in public!).
