How about the keywords in your question?

Google[^]

Detecting what version (if any) is pretty much a single line of registry code, if the issue is that you can't find vb.net then try a c# to vb.net converter and give it the code that you do find.

A quick look at the links gives a quick solution: .net - Detect the installed version of Windows Media Player using C# - Stack Overflow[^] The code is C#, but it's almost identical in VB
