Hi,

Right now I am just a beginner in C#.
I joined a software company and they asked me to help develop Finance Software.
I haven't got a complete idea of it.

I have a basic idea regarding that software, but with that I cannot develop the whole software.

I have to finish this in one day (15-12-2010) If it's not I will lose my job.
Can anyone help me to give me the 'ideas' for developing finance software?

Just give me a link to a website and then I will develop the software.

Plain simple absurdity!

You must be kidding! :)

You got an assigment to do something you are not aware of - that too in a day. Further, if you are unable to, you loose your job! It's really hard to believe something like this in real world.

Looks like they assume you know it and can do it. Simple start would be to go and talk to the person who gave assignment- tell him what all you know and what not. Be clear on what needs to be done and what the expectations are.

Asking for help for such situations is not going to help you in long run. Try, make some effort and post the issues you face.

So what job are you going to do next?

There are seasoned professionals who could not do that in two years.

Accounting and Finance software is so difficult.
Not only is it a large process in terms of actual code, but there are national and international standards for reports, there are national and international tax considerations and national and international laws that have to be considered.

Still, I am sure that as a beginner you will have a full knowledge of international tax law, a complete understanding of accoutancy practice and will be able to code several million lines in a day.

Alternatively, I think McDonalds are hiring.

I can't control myself :) ...surely every one think you are kidding. Also I wonder which company you are working. Better you can relieve from that job & you can get another good one if you have enough skills in your field.

Also are you sure about Thomas Krojer message here?

You can't develop Finance Software in one day. For you info.. even some minor customizations takes one day to update in some projects. But you are asking whole application should be finished in one day which is impossible.

You are in wrong place so leave that & find a better one quickly. Mean time learn skills quickly in right way. At least coming New year will be great for you. Cheers.

I too hope this is a joke ...

First, I find the term "finance software" not very helpful. What exactly is a "finance software"? Double entry accounting? Cost accounting? Payroll accounting? Voucher accounting? Charting software for share prices? Electronic Payment? Billing?

I would ask ... and 1 day?

Really a big joke...........
Losing a job........assignment in a day............
Dear friend if you are serious then i will Suggest you go to your authority and ask him what he really want ..As in Mr.Thomas's Reply Finance software is not very useful term .. Accounting and finance are very vast term
very big companies like tally(Just example) worked hard for several years and made the accounting packages...

For moment you can search free billing softwares on google and take a idea from them...

God bless your Job...
