An often asked question. Have you tried searching for anything?

Are you asking for suggestions or for an offer? If you're asking for an offer this would be the wrong forum.

The Reason that I ask is to know your experience of the successful ones and the one not to be hacked.

Please don't post non-answers as "solution". It can give you abuse reports which eventually may lead to cancellation of your CodeProject membership.

There was a question a while back about this and I remember there is an article here on CP doing what you are seeking:

The Application Trial Maker[^]

I hope this will help you!

Manfred

Looks like an interesting project. My 5.
You are kind of looking for licensing options.

There are different ways to achieve this
1) encrypted license files that contains the expiry dates etc.
2) encrypted license keys held in the registry
3) challenge/response mechanism which require an internet connection
4) probably others.......
Try: License Key Generation[^] or: How can I create a Product Key for my C# App[^] or: c# Licensing[^]

Also,
Cryptography 101 for the .NET Framework[^]
Hope this helps.

I'm not sure what you mean by making a "trial version", but if it is producing a trial version of your own software, what I've done is simply create a Project Configuration called Trial or Demo, in addition to the normal Debug and Release configurations. In the configuration, define a DEMO or TRIAL constant. Then in your code check for the constant and make whatever changes you need to produce the version.
