I have a list of IPs which are in my subnet. In my network there are windows as well as Linux systems. I have to detect the os by having only the host name or IP address. Please help me.

1 solution

I have found a VB code[^] for that. You have to convert it. I don't know whether it detects Linux.
Try it. All the best.
Prerak, how do you know this code really works and what it does? I would say the idea is very strange: why any computer would give out sensitive information? I never heard of protocols designed the that. At the very least, if some solution is possible, it means it works only on some particularly vulnerable machine. A computer can serve up anything to the outside word, most typically -- nothing. Please explain.

I don't know, I just found that. OP needs to try it.
