Hi all,

I have a problem with binding a reorder list, the control that is part of the AJAX Control Toolkit. I hope you can help because I've spent hours developing it!

I created the list and had it working perfectly, with insert, edit and delete commands, as well as reordering all functioning correctly.

Because the reorder list is within an AJAX Accordion Pane, and the Accordion isn't databound until runtime, the datasource of the reorderlist is set in code behind in the ItemDataBound event of the Accordion. The point is that in each Accordion Pane the nested reorderlist is showing different data from the same table. It's a master-detail situation.

Unfortunately, my code behind to assign the reorder list's datasource, only works in cases where there is only one Accordion Pane (master record). The code is:

Reorderlist1.DataSourceID = "SQLDataSource"

Obviously this causes problems when there are more than one Accordion Panes because the datasource for the reorderlist is being changed each time the next Accordion Pane is bound, so that the reorderlist in each Pane only shows records relating to the last Pane.

I can fix the problem by changing my code to:

Reorderlist1.DataSource = SQLDataSource

After I do that the correct records are shown in each reorderlist BUT none of the functionality works. It seems that the reorderlist requires a DataSourceID to be set, not a DataSource, in order to work. But if that's true, it's not going to be any use to me. :(

I hope this make sense. Can anybody help?

P.S. I would have included source code but it's so huge and complicated that I thought I'd see if my explanation was enough in itself first.
