My company has several large format printers that we lease from another company. Every month the leasing company asks for the meter readings on these printers. They use these readings to base when a given printer needs to be serviced. The meter reading is the number of square feet of paper that the printer has used. How would I get this reading using C#?

I would say something is wrong with this type of service contract. In real life, the service depends on pigment consumption even more. Or do I miss something?

Your best bet is to talk to the manufacturers: they must be used to this question, and probably have a stock reply.

The chances are that it varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.
