Uncertain. It totally depends on the goal. Totally. There is not pro or cons in this area.
Interview question? School test? Bad question. There are enough zombies everywhere already, why raising them?

And there is not much to implement. It is already implemented in the framework and you can use it to synchronize threads. Or you don't use it and live with the side effects of unsynchronized threads. That's about all.
