how to use google places API in South Africa

Hi there,

I'm currently new in Android development, I am doing an application that uses GPS for finding the user's current location that I have done already. My problem is now from that location I want to find the nearest bars, ATM, hotel, etc., using the Google places API and it seems it is not working here in South Africa.

Any solution or tutorial will be appreciated.

its not giving me any results when i search from SA, but it does give me results around other countries
