message alert box like outlook

Hi friends,

Would it be possible, if I am in a booking and do receive a new message that somewhere on the page an alert appears eg. New message received (like outlook does when new message received) or on the “Home” Tab displays how many unread messages eg. Home (1)

any help is appreciated

really good example of notification use it.
