Hi,

Why the MAC address is repeated 16 times in Wake on LAN tool? The first 6 Bytes in a magic packet is its header which is of all 255 (FF FF FF FF FF FF in hexadecimal), followed by sixteen repetitions of the target computer's 48-bit MAC address, for a total of 102 bytes. Is the tool works if the magic packet length is only 12 Bytes [ie 6 bytes header + 6 Bytes MAC address]?

Can anybody help me.

Thanks

Some things are just standards, there is no point in asking why as that is how the standard was set and everyone is using it.

Power off is an OS specific thing, so no you can't.
