organiser or organizer?

now I'm thinking that was done on purpose; in the setting I saw "Organiser" when I first signed up and after years it's still "Organiser", can't believe that with that many members noone ever corrected it..

It's a American and British english difference. Both have their own pronunciation and spellings for word.

wiki says
"American and Canadian spelling accepts only -ize endings in most cases, such as organize, realize, and recognize. British usage is split between both -ize and -ise (organize / organise, realize / realise, recognize / recognise)"

I think "organizer" is the spelling in U.S. English; "organiser" is considered to be "alternative spelling" according to Wikidictionary: http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/organiser[^].
