I need to create a proof of concept where users will record and replay audio, but it should be done using HTML5 without any browser plugin. Is this possible today?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Marcelo,

I was reading recently the proposed spec modifications for HTML5, recording capability is being considered, it is currently support in chrome only I believe (thats how google implement the speech search capability, you could see if the Speech Input API helps any[^])

Start here;[^]

There is also a link off to the HTMLAudioElement reference.

Think that should get you going.

Edit: Final Report of the HTML Speech Incubator Group (6th December 2011)[^] is an interesting read.

I tried to find the original article I was reading, but got nowhere, I am sure it was one of google's blogs. It also covered other hardware such as webcam support etc.
