Sql server uses client server architecture

my question that i install sql server 2005 on my personal computer. how sql server 2005 manipulate query on my personal computer.


Database server is a separate personal computer?

Can be.
But doesn't have to be.

If the SQL server instance is on a PC that is accessible on your network segment (and not hidden behind firewalls, yada, yada), then you can access it. If it is on your PC, then you can access it because it is by definition on your network segment, and not hidden behind firewalls.

Or it could be on the internet, or on a "farm" of servers, or...

But if you can "see" it, you can connect - log in ids and so forth permitting.
