Hi all,

What are the Main Technologies a .net developer should know for different levels(beginner, intermediate, expert) in his career?

Along with C#,Asp.net,there might be many front-end tools like XML,HTML5,CSS,...etc and other tools like SharePoint,Jquery,Ajax,...etc ,but
Non of the employers expect a candidate should know each and every .Net associated technology. They only expect some main technologies a .Net developer should have Hands-on experience and some a developer can be aware of.

So what are they ?

Thank in advance

It totally depends on the position for which employer is looking candidate for. It might be just an ace developer with C# skill or a jack of all trade who can do little bit of C#, SQL, UI, UML, etc!

So, do whatever you know best and you like. Do, keep learning that interest you. Jobs/Positions open based on project requirement and candidates are chosen based on the needed skillset.

Developer prospective, few pure development area, you can be tagged as:
Web developer - ASP.NET, Silverlight
Windows developer - Winforms, WPF
Database developer - SQL, Oracle
Language/Other - C#, VB.NET, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5, CSS3
