run VS OR any .net ide from an usb

Iam an IT guy and is unfortunately working on some other feild but i had passion to return back and is trying to polish my skills in .net .but iam not allowed to install VS or any other softwares in my office .It would be very nice if i can instal it in an usb and run it from there without affecting system
I have seen some body saying about VM on usb if it is possible can anyone explain it in simple language.
My system has .net framework 2 installed thanks in advance

Try using SharpDevelop http://www.icsharpcode.net/OpenSource/SD/Default.aspx[^] it will xcopy deploy.
