Grid View_ Edit Item Template

Hi all I am using grid view to display user profile from db. when I click the edit hyperlink, I want some fields with other controls other than Textbox (Say for example I want drop down control for blood group with a list of some values).

so when I click the edit button I can choose my blood group from available blood groups and then I click the update button.

I have used the Edit Item Template I am struck at how can I bind the table name to the dropdown control in Edit Item Template and how to retrieve the value from there and has to update the data base.


Please tell me How to do this? and Is there any other procedures other than this then just post to here.
