Hi everybody

I'm a last year computer science student and I have to design a graduation project

I asked my professors and advice me to design a c sharp program using based on cryptography

like a program to implement a DES and RSA application and to do some comparison between the both algorithms

but I think this Idea is not enough for graduation project

if any one have an suggestions to be update the idea my project please share the idea here and thanks alot

Agree, this would be a very weak work. I don't know your quality standards. To me, it's so weird to me to hear that in you school the ideas are not circulating in the air. It means you have a problem with school culture. When I needed the ideas, I asked my fellow students, and gave my ideas to them. What, you don't have all that? Too bad...

I asked my collegues and they gave me some ideas but aren't good enough and too common like database based projects and i asked my teachers and gave me general ideas like cryptography idea so that's what make me lost.

I'm not sure what you want to achieve, what kind of comparision do you want to do, but i recommend you to read this: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_are_the_difference_between_DES_and_RSA_algorithm[^] - as shortest answer as it's possible ;)

I wanna to measure the time the algorithm takes to encrypt or decrypt a text , and measure the time that the algorithm takes to creat the key and so on.

but as i said I think the idea is too small to be a graduation project so if you have an idea about an application that use cryptography algorithm as a part of the program like steganogrphy .

unfortunately i can't do a steganography project because another student gonna do this project . so if you have an idea for a project please tell me .

and thanks for response

I voted 4 for the useful references, but this is not quite an idea for a graduation project. Please see my comment to the question.

Vote of 4 - OK. But let me explain, why my answer is not complete. First of all, question is not clear. Second, as i wrote, i have no idea what kind of "comparision" OP want to do. Now, i know that OP want to measure the time which algorithm takes to encrypt/decrypt some data. Is it good enough for graduation project? I don't know. Each country has a different education system. In my country it would not be enough.
