select Multiple in dropdownlist

i taken 1 dropdownlist so initially i adding to that ddl "ALL" and If i select to that "ALL" so in DDL the ALL fields should be save into one string .. and that i ll insert 2 into database , and how can i select multiple in ddl ..and insert into database. i hope u ll understand my prob
