It looks like you think so, because otherwise you would not think about the possibility of relying on the opinion of some strangers. I think that the topic of the seminar should be so important for listeners that they could not afford not attending, otherwise the topic does not justify the time spent.

OK, I can understand that the seminar topic could be required from you due to your study or work. In case of the school study, the goal could be educating students in doing seminars, among other things. But even in this case, addressing to strangers is pretty much pointless. We have no idea of the level of knowledge, study subjects and other aspects of life of your group of people. Even if this is a learning process for you, you are supposed to think independently and be able to see relevant and important topics in your everyday problems. This is the whole point of learning.
