Sharepoint 2007 recycle bin

Hi,

I hope someone will be able to help me, On the site collection recycle bin of sharepoint 2007(SP2). When you attempt to restore an item or delete it to the second stage recycle bin, nothing happens....Has anyone experienced this before.

I have added the registry keys

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\Web Server Extensions\HeapSettings\LocalSPRequestWarnCount = 50
and
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\Web Server Extensions\HeapSettings\SPRequestStackTrace =1

But this has not helped
