I want to deploy my program written in C++. I've taken a look at the InstallShield and Wise Installer . I want to make sure that it allow me some features like licencing and the ability to check/download updates.Wich one you advise me to choose?

AFAIK no matter what package you pick the licensing aspect is up to you. The auto-update feature is not part of a setup creator that I have ever seen. That has always been implemented by the software developer.

I don't think you're going to get everything you want, in one package.

The two installers you mention allow you to add additional code, that will be executed as part of the installation process.

This will include verification checks before the install, and post verification checks to verify the install after it is complete. In the pre-install verification, you could ask for a license key and verify it.

Auto-Update software will likely just download the installer from an internet source and run it in a process separate from the main program.

InstallShield is pretty powerful but has gotten relatively expensive lately, try an open source alternative, InnoSetup[^], it has a pretty powerful scripting engine so it should be pretty flexible.

For Windows packages you can use WiX which is free.
