hello everyone
My server: windows server 2008 r2 , II7
I deploy a wpf webbrowser application into the IIS7,then I put a .exe file in "C:\inetpub\wwwroot",I want my client application to get the remote exe file, but always return null.
I have research some documents, someone tells me maybe IIS7 locks all the exe files,so that i can not download them, but i dont't know what can I do.
Did anyone encounted this problem ? help me,please, this problem makes me despair.

I could be wrong, but I do not think this is a concern that is up to the IIS (server-side) to decide. That would be wrong, and dangerous if the host/owner of malicious websites should decide what the client can download.

So this is up to the client. The visitors to your site should allow exe-files to be downloaded within the settings in the web browser.
