How to get data other than filename from a file open dilogue box

I want to edit the fileopen dialog box and add some custom field to the file open dialog box. For an example, along with the file name the fileopen dialog box asks for age field. when a user opens a file say Customerinfo.txt where name and age of a customer is given and with the information of age field the program sorts the name of the customers who are below the age provided in the fileopen dialog box age field.

Please any one help me with this.
