Solution 1

create setup project
step by step[^]

Visual Studio Windows Application Setup Project[^]

then you will get setup of your own application
and install it client-side

Happy Coding!

prerequisites for, crystal report, (internal)sql if you use them...
and files like below...

if crystal report (.rpt files)
if sql server (.mdb file)
if ms-access then (access database file)

Aarti Meswania 14-Dec-12 5:22am
have you use sql database?
and which internal(available inside .net) or external?
Snehasish Nandy 14-Dec-12 5:23am
Yes i m using sql server...that also external..
Aarti Meswania 14-Dec-12 5:26am
okay you have to install sql client side
and then create database in that new sql server
and connection string should be as per that new sql server
like server name
Snehasish Nandy 14-Dec-12 5:28am
and if i use internal then..??and is it better to use Mysql in this point of scenario..??
Aarti Meswania 14-Dec-12 5:30am
not know!
I have always used external sql only for real time application :)
Snehasish Nandy 14-Dec-12 5:41am
then if i use Mysql then will it be better..??
Aarti Meswania 14-Dec-12 5:43am
i have not use mysql with windows application
i have use it in web application
but i know that if you use mysql then also you have to install server for mysql database
Snehasish Nandy 14-Dec-12 5:46am
last thing..please tell me like if i m using sql server externally..then is it mandatory to use the licence version..?? means sql server is also available as free does it matter..
Aarti Meswania 14-Dec-12 5:49am
no, you will not need license
and you can download sql-server setup from sql's website
Snehasish Nandy 14-Dec-12 5:56am

Solution 2

Create a Setup and Deployment project, which will build an installer for you - it should work out most if not all of that for you.

to run the application does the client system need to have visual studio and sql server installed..???
OriginalGriff 14-Dec-12 5:33am
No, and No. In fact the latter is not recommended as it removes the advantage of using SQL server - multiuser access.
To run the app, it needs the appropriate .NET Framework version, and access to a SQL server instance - which could be on the LAN, or even on the internet (though you need to be careful with that approach).

A setup program will ensure the framework version is installed, and will load and register any necessary DLL files.
