I don't regularly work in the C# .NET environment.

I am using a Linux Web Server that contains an empty directory.

When I use the WebRequestMethods.Ftp.ListDirectory method, it raises an exception.
This exception does not occur when I am using a MS-Windows Web Server.

When I place a file in that empty directory, the WebRequestMethods.Ftp.ListDirectoryDetails operates as expected without exception.

I also note that using WebRequestMethods.Ftp.ListDirectoryDetails operates as expected without exception on empty directories and populated directories.

Why would this be the case?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Can you provide a code sample? Its possible you may have missed something. I use linux and windows ftp servers interchangeably with a class i've written that wraps FTP functionality in c# and have no issues.
