Can anyone advise as to the best practice for implementing an apk download link on a webpage? In the past I have always used the an input button with javaScript in the onClick like this:
onclick="javascript:window.open('https://bladyblah.co.uk/folder/MyApp.apk');"

This used to work just find but it looks like chrome (android version) has decided it wants to ignore the fact that it is an .apk file and just try to open a html page resulting in another tab with the same page opening.

Still works with other browsers but not Chrome. I guess there is a another way?

Thanks

What I have tried:

Searched several forums and googled everything but cannot find any relevant results.

What is an apk file? What exactly do you want to have happen?
