What should be the audio engine api for Cent OS 6.2?

I have an app which runs fluently in Cent OS 5.5 but shows an error message when I run it on Cent OS 6.2. The message is "no such directory: \dev\dsp"

What should I do?

Not enough information. Could you possibly use a hard-coded path name?

It says there is no path dev/dsp but I want to know what is dsp equivalent to Cent OS 6.2. I mean where the audio engine or the sound card lies.
