I have a text file of 10 points (x&y) and I want to search for each point in another file of several 3d points as the second file has the z coordinate of these points. so I want to get where these points are found to get their z coordinate. how can I do that in python?

What I have tried:

While we are more than willing to help those that are stuck, that doesn't mean that we are here to do it all for you! We can't do all the work, you are either getting paid for this, or it's part of your grades and it wouldn't be at all fair for us to do it all for you.

So we need you to do the work, and we will help you when you get stuck. That doesn't mean we will give you a step by step solution you can hand in!
Start by explaining where you are at the moment, and what the next step in the process is. Then tell us what you have tried to get that next step working, and what happened when you did.

Think about how you would do it manually, with a page of points, and a book of 3D points. When you have a good way to do that, start thinking about how to automate the process.

You need to read each file into a Python data structure of some type and do the searches on the structures. See 5. Data Structures — Python 3.10.5 documentation[^].

Alternatively you could use something like the Pandas library to do the processing. See pandas - Python Data Analysis Library[^].
