Problem in validation in MVC3

Hi,
I am using MVC3, in that i have used entity framework, i have added .edmx file for database operation. I have to apply validation on properties, i have added [Requeired(message="field value is require)] attribute to the property in designer.cs but the problem is that when i refresh my .edmx file all validations are erased, so what should i do this for that?
