how to create random password

hi every one;
I am making student registration form. I want that when admin register the new student then password are showed randomly for every students in label box. admin didn't enter the password during the registration. I want that system pick the password by default but randomly. I uses student Id as a primary key.
can anyone give me some hints about it.
