code for turning Active cases 2 inactive while one remain as active

I m developing an Asp.net application in which im facing an issue,
in my database i have field as Status which shows active or inactive,now as per requirement whenever i m supposed to enter Active for a required period ,other period should get set as inactive automatically in my database.I m using a Dropdown for entering Status.

pls help me with d code .
