Hello friends,

I am restoring database . But this error Occurs. Is there any way to solve this.
Except Scripting.

System.Data.SqlClient.SqlError: The database was backed up on a server running version 10.50.1617. That version is incompatible with this server, which is running version 10.00.2531. Either restore the database on a server that supports the backup, or use a backup that is compatible with this server. (Microsoft.SqlServer.Smo)

Thanks & Regards

The error tells you your options. Is there something else?

I know you are looking for a way around it. I don't think there is one.

Upgrade "this server" to SQL Server 2008 R2??

The error tells your options. Unfortunately (sort of), I don't know of any way around this. The database was created in a newer version of SQL than where you are trying to restore it to, and therefore, there are settings within the backup file that SQL does not know about.
