i have made a web application it works smoothly on local system but when i m uploading it on web server and try to gives run time error

error is :
Runtime Error
Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customerrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customerrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".

<customerrors mode="Off">

Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customerrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.

<customerrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultredirect="mycustompage.htm">

In the first instance, if you read the error message, it's telling you how to edit your web.config, so that you can see the ACTUAL error that is occuring. Until you do that and post that error, we cannot help you.

If you have a access of your web server then execute your web application directly in your web server. it will show you the exact error. Or the other way is, Handle the exception and maintain the log. Trace is and find the exact error.

Please don't post an 'answer' to yourself.

You missed the point. If you change the web config in the way the error tells you, then anyone can see what is wrong with it. Otherwise, you need to login using a browser that is open ON THE SAME MACHINE that the site is hosted on. We get the same error you do, for the same reasons, unless you do what the error says to do, or reproduce the error while using the server machine. If you have an FTP to your server, that won't help. If you can remote desktop onto it, that will work fine.
