haw can read a file through java script in html page.

I have a html page and a text file in same folder.
I want to read that text file and show the content of that file in alert box.
Please,tell me the javascript code regarding this
plz this is urgent.

Google is the best place to start anything. Instead asking for any code do some r&d on that.

Using java script we cant do file operations. Try to do on server side
