I assume you mean the scanning part, that's a good question. I am also wondering why they want to do this and other "local" tasks in ASP .NET.

There are many many samples online. I would recommend downloading one of them and getting started. If you get stuck on something specific then please come back and ask a specific question and we'll be happy to help.
