Using append how to save the gridview values in asp.net

In Gridview as follows

Room course

11 REO
EDIT(LNK BUTTON)

when i click the edit link button, the dropdownlist is displayed,in that dropdownlist course is there,in that select the course then click the OK Button.

when i click the ok Button, the selected course from the dropdownlist will be added in the gridview as follows



Room course

11 REO/RM

like above in the gridview is to be displayed.

in the database record should be saved as follows

Room course

11 REO
11 RM



for that how can i do using csharp.
